#BookTok - the 60-second book report [assignment]

This is a speaking activity in which students make a BookTok: a short TikTok video about a book. This format became popular on TikTok, but is also available on Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

Instructions

Students start by analysing what makes a good TikTok BookTok video. They then form the structure of their video and write a script. After recording and editing, they analyse the captions and hashtags of the videos they analysed and before uploading their own video.

Duration: this activity can take a few classes, but should be doable in two classes.
